Chin Implants (Mentoplasty)
Mentoplasty, or more commonly referred to as Chin Implants is a procedure that enhances the contour of the chin resulting in a more proportionate and pleasing appearance. This surgery can and is usually combined with other procedures such as rhinoplasty so that an overall balance is achieved. It is for people who want a strong jaw line. This is achieved by placing silicon implants under the chin. The shape of the silicon implants is customized according to the patient’s facial structure and their expected results to provide a more natural look. Mentoplasty can be done either under local or general anesthesia; this is usually decided upon by your surgeon. The surgery will take between 1-4 hours varying from case to case.
