Pre Cosmetic Eye Surgery

Prior to the cosmetic surgery it is commonly advised to take an eye test. This will ease any health concerns you may have about your eyes. It is recommended that you purchase an eye pack in preparation for your return home – this will reduce swelling and bruising.

Your surgeon will discuss issues surrounding smoking, drinking, medications or vitamins at you consultation. You may be advised to avoid or resume these activities

Eye Surgery

Your surgeon will examine and draw marks on your eyes in preparation for surgery. You will then be requested to sign a consent form to show that you understand the procedures and have given your consent to for the cosmetic surgery to go ahead.

After cosmetic eye surgery, you will have icepacks placed over your eyes to keep the bruising and swelling to a minimum. Any pain experienced can be controlled with medication. It is typical for patients to be discharged from the clinic on the same day as cosmetic surgery.

Post Cosmetic Eye Surgery

Your surgeon will assess you after surgery and advise you on an appropriate time to return to work – usually 7-14 days after surgery. If your surgeon has given you eye ointment, you need to continue to use this. You must take it easy in the days following cosmetic surgery, when sleeping you must keep you head elevated with pillows for four nights after cosmetic surgery. Continue using ice packs and ensure that your scars are kept clean and dry until the stitches are removed. Before stitches have been removed you must not apply eye make up.

Appointments will be arranged by your surgeon to treat your wounds post cosmetic surgery, it is to compulsory attend these for successful healing
