Pre Surgery
Before the surgery you will have a consultation with your surgeon at Transform who will guide you through the procedure, after effects and risks involved. The surgeon along with your input will recommend the most suitable option for you. The surgeon will also ensure you are not prone to keloids etc. and may also advise you to stop certain medication 2 weeks before surgery.
On the day of the surgery
At Transform brachioplasty is performed under general anesthesia so the patient will have to stay over night at the hospital/transform clinic. During the procedure an incision is made along the inner arm usually extending from the armpit to the elbow. However, the length of the incision will depend on how much fat is to be removed and the location of the excess fat. Once the excess fat is removed the incision is then stitched.
Post surgery
There will be some pain and swelling for 2-3 days. If the stitches are not dissolvable they will have to be removed after 10 days. Bathing is not recommended for at least 3 days. Light work activities should be avoided for 2-3 weeks. The bruising could take up to 6 months to disappear.
