Pre Surgery
At Transform, you will consult with a qualified surgeon ahead of the surgery. The surgeon will help you decide whether you require buttock implants and will guide you on the procedure, after-care and risks of this surgery. Once you have decided to go ahead with the procedure, the surgeon will recommend the position of the implants. Your surgeon may also advise you to stop certain medication 2 weeks before surgery.
On the day of the surgery
The surgery is performed under general anesthesia so you will be required to stay at the hospital over night. A vertical incision is made in the tailbone area and a pocket is created behind the upper buttock muscle. The silicon implants are placed in these pockets. Once the procedure is completed the incision will be stitched. The scars between the buttock cheeks caused due to the incision will be barely visible after few months. There will be a sticky tape dressing and you will be advised to wear tight underpants to help with the healing process.
Post surgery
The dressing will be on for 7-10 days and should be kept clean and dry, so bathing is recommended only after this time. In case the stitches are not dissolvable then you will have to remove them after 10 days. Your surgeon will advise you to take complete rest for 2 weeks and avoid and strenuous work for 6 weeks. Tight underpants are also recommended for the first few weeks. The time required to go back to performing your regular activities will depend on how fast and well you recover. There will be severe pain for a few days and walking or sitting will be very difficult for at least a week. There will be regular follow-ups for the first few months at Transform Clinics to monitor your progress.
